Fix that Computer
I was distracted from my reverie when Lu's niece patted my hand. Her other hand was occupied by a packet of green tea drink. And she said, "Gor Gor, 给你。"
"Okay, deep breaths...."mentally rang out as I took a deep breath, then slowly let it out. "Thank you. But erhm, I am not Gor Gor.... I am Jie Jie" to that, she gave me that same confused face every time I corrected her. Then sat down on the bed beside me and stare at the screen I have been staring at for the last 2 hours. (P.S: 那小脚晃啊晃的邮购可爱。)
Lu came in not so long after that, since her niece did not return. To find 2 people staring blankly at the computer screen.
"You should do the cleanup every once in a while, instead of it taking so long now. Oh and we need to get you another mouse."
My words broke the trance and the kid just blinked then stood to leave the room. Sometimes, I wonder...
While out getting the mouse, we got some groceries as I'm staying for dinner. End up getting caught in the rain so when back into the mall for another round of aimless window shopping.
As one can expect from the hospitality of Lu's sister, I was asked to stay for dinner. Home cooked meals are always great barter for service, and you can never go wrong with salmon and greens. Mushrooms, corn, garden green salad and mash potatoes tasted really good as well, and the ending note of a dessert; that carrot cake is heavenly.
Cleaned up and got back to systems updates, re-installations and patches. It wasn't until almost 11 when I finish up and the lull of the kid playing in the living room had turned into silence.
Waking Lu, who've fallen asleep waiting; and headed for the living room to once again thank her sister for the hospitality before going downstairs with Lu to the cab.
Well, all in a day's work I guess.

Musée d'Orsay in Singapore
Dreams and Reality. To me, dreaming is the mixture of ideas and emotions; sub-consciously what we yearn for or what we feel deeply about. People say “日有所思,夜有所梦”, that your daily musings reflects in your dreams. Whether it be a more fantastical depiction of our thoughts or just whimsical non-sense, this depends on who the dreamer is and how he / she interprets it.
Sometimes, we think about things so much, that it came true. That is the power of mind.
What is our artist's 憧憬? Did they make it into reality? By viewing this exhibition, we might have an insight of how the featured artists feel about 'current affairs'. After all, isn't that what impressionism is all about? Instead of depicting heroic acts or scenes from biblical mythical stories, the "Impressionist" then chooses to record nature, emotions and ideas. Old vs New. Then vs Now. Of course we have to be thankful; because without these 'records', we might never have known how life is back then, or how some places looked like previously, if it is no longer there. It is much like how netizens are now, twittering about their lives or posting their pictures on facebook. Ah, the similarities of keeping moments treasured alive...
But what really is impressionism? For the conservatives then, impressionism was considered amateurish mostly due to the subject that was painted and the style of painting. The method in which the 'Impressionist' use; usually working directly on the canvas instead of mixing their colours on palettes and using light rapid brush strokes (to prevent colour from drying before it could be mixed?) to capture the living / scenery might seem rushed to others, but we have to note that they are capturing live and usually doing it out-doors adds to the difficulty of not having the subject 'stop' for them.
Also, many think of impressionism as scandalous. We can see that from Manet's 'Le déjeuner sur l'herbe' (The Luncheon on the Grass) and 'Olympia', how human forms were depicted in personal life instead of as mythically (the many forms of Venus by various artists).
Imagine my excitement when I saw the wall ad in Doby Gaut MRT a few days back. Fast forward back and here I was, in front of the National Museum of Singapore sketch pad / notebook equipped. I have to resist the urge to do the "clutch of victory" at its door when I see the crowd. Or the lack of it~ :D
This exhibition, titled "Dreams & Reality: Masterpieces of Painting, Drawing & Photography of the Musee d’Orsay, Paris", would garnered much attention from the general public, I expect. I should just be thankful that Musee d’Orsay is having renovation back at its galleries or there would not have been this opportunity to view all these great works of art. Everyone who has the opportunity to visit should do so, because this epic giant that it is almost took up the entire lower floor (and then some) of the grounds in NMS. Apparently, a total of 140 pieces were brought over to be on display (even the original frames were brought over) and there are some events (films, lectures, interactive tours, performance arts and sketching~) going hand in hand with it.
For a moment, I was lost. So armed with the brochure, I thread on, following the curator's set-up as guidance. The exhibition, sectioned into "Allegory and History", "Man and Contemporary Life" and "Man and Nature and Solitude" prove to be very informative and well organised. I could go on about the introductory to each sections on the walls ("History and War" or "Leisure" for example) and the play with lights and mannequins or the quotations about colours and such. What really pleased me was the brief description below every piece. Like tidbits; easy to digest and tastily descriptive. There's even audio explanations provided (if you decide to rent a headset.)
Arranged by their years, it is not hard to follow the growth of the artists and the styles that they develop as they strive to find personal / individual expression. The over-all setting makes this exhibition interesting to go through because of the different moods in the different sections.
Of course, there will be a few motion-stoppers. It is hard not to stop for the likes of the many depictions of Venus, Van Gogh's 'Starry Night Over the Rhone', Degas' 'Dancers Climbing a Staircase', 'The Card Players', and Monet's landscapes... the list goes on. However, my attention was in getting to that one painting. It might seem strange but in a certain way I think it fits that the painting that drawn me most is a nude. Le garçon au chat or more easily named, 'Young Boy with a Cat'. Yes, that's the painting featured on the wall ad at the Dhoby Ghaut MRT.
I did a bit of research on Pierre Auguste Renoir and his works before coming to the exhibition and saw interesting similarities to (for example) his 'The Theatre Box' (1874) and Eva Gonzales' 'A Box at the Italian Theatre' (1875-1878) and enjoyed his sweetly colourful 'The Railway Bridge at Chatou' or adeptly named 'The Pink Chestnut Trees' (1881) However, this RENOIR is very different. It was painted before he broke up with the Impressionist Movement in the mid-1880s and for someone who love his art 'likeable, joyous and pretty -- yes, pretty!' It is hard to see why he chooses to paint the boy in such cold colours and realist light. Even the brush strokes seem to be harsher than his other works during that period. The colours remind me a bit of Manet's 'The Luncheon on the Grass' and I am immediately struck with the conspiracy theory of Pierre Auguste Renoir doing this painting for something other than it being fun. What could he be trying to prove with this work?
Other than the light colours for the table setting, the cat and the boy (the main characters of the painting) seems too real. The painted seem nonchalant at being watched and drawn (I am assuming as this IS after all a work during the Impressionist Movement) as he cuddle against the rather fat cat as he turn back to face his 'audience'(?) I could almost see that shadow of a smirk forming on his lips.
I think I stood there for an hour just looking at it, trying to figure out what the boy is thinking. (Or it could just be the yaoi poisoning my brain, making this seems more than it should O_O)
Well that aside, I've gained much from this experience and if there is a chance for me to attend such an event again, I would. I don't know much about fine art but this exhibition really showcase some of the most impressive works that it is an exhibition not to be missed.

The Will
Everyone around me seems to have a problem or another. Relations, studies, work... Why don't it all go away? Not motivated at all recently... It's like we're suffering from a depression; everyone seems to be wanting to change their jobs. When will we have the will to fight this depression?
Side note: I might want to do
this, to prove to myself that I can... Maybe.

When Cousins Come To Play
I could not tell you how many places of interest we saw; nor how much we actually see of Singapore itself. Yes, I am such fail as a tour guide. However, what I can tell you is... We ate non-stop. Between Hao's amazing appetite; Kuan's good stamina, Neng's ability to fight for the tab and my incredible 'sense of direction', I bring you, "When Cousins Come To Play!"
This is supposed to be the foot note but this is my blog so I can put it where I want it. I hope this complaint actually gets to you Mr. Tan Cher Hao. Not only did I broke doctor's orders and drank like too much, I put my ever-so-flimsy slimming plans (okay maybe a no over-eating, exercise sometimes plan) on hold and threw caution to the winds, joining you in your endless eating spree. I gained 4 freaking kilos because of you; idiot. You'd better be thankful and treat me nicer the next time I visit you, vice versa. Or else!
19 JulyThat aside, with people to do(?), places to see, let's get on with the show! Them Chers made it to Singapura 19 July with our Shen Shen in toll and I worked a bit as Cindy run her fats away at the Shape Run. Unfortunate for me, there's bread to consider and really I haven't have much dough left. Excited to hear about her adventure, we decided to meet after my family dinner. Hao and Kuan took showers, napped and we had a huge dinner to welcome them here. I left the house for Cindy and we walked around to Marina Square and City Link before walking back to TCC, which is kind of like our usual coffee place. We were just seated when I spotted the four guys near HMV door. Did I tell you they were tall? Formal introduction's aside, we chatted about stuff and had a bit of dessert and drinks; me acting like a true TCC fan and introducing them the good and the to-keep-away(s) on the menu. Neng went HMV and got his Girl Generation new mini album "Tell Me Your Wish". Feeling artsy, we went over to "Durians" for exhibits and the Mr. Merlion, who had an accident with lightning and the three new lighted walkie talkie at sea.
Mister Merlion, who went Yun Nam Hair Care to salvage his bald patch.
Yun Nam Hair Care works!
Did I tell you I love you, Cin? Thanks for being there, you made being the butt of jokes bearable. We went straight for the MRT station after all that camwhoring. Oh and I get to explain to Kuan how it's impossible to miss the ERP 'In Operation' sign. Then it's Braddell Mac for supper. We introduced them the culture of studying in 24 hour operated deli because I saw Pei Xuan studying there and we had a general debate on studying in such diners / coffee houses before getting our butt to order food. Over burgers, fries, nuggets, wings, apple pies, coke, ice teas and ice milos, we discussed about the future prospect of Singapore and Malaysia. Hao's experience in the U.S was really insightful and the talks about the economic downturn and developing countries and China raising up and the big guns just made my head dizzy. Or maybe that's the lag of sleep from trying to complete my shifts before they get here talking. Or the food overdose. I don't even know anymore. Conclusion as 19 turn 20: My stomach wouldn't get any rest as Hao express his enthusiasm for 小锅面,点心,油条 and food in general on our walk home.
20 JulyToo much to digest, I read through a couple of reports before felling asleep. Shen Shen and I shared the room while they were here and maybe I should just mention that I am a light sleeper. I woke in time for breakfast and Hao was amazed to see me up before him. We joined Mother and Shen Shen at 太空船巴刹 for breakfast. Hao was disappointed because 小锅面's stall wasn't open. On the menu instead was 萝卜糕,猪肠粉,鱼片汤,斋米粉,甘蔗汁,laksa and nasi lemak. Muffins for take-away. There's this thing about staying in Toa Payoh; when the Sun is up, there's sure food to be found.
After breakfast, I was online for facebook while the aunties freshen up for shopping. Precious time needed for my stomach to digest the food intake. When lazy bums Neng and Kuan finally woke, we headed to Orchard since Neng got his friend to slack with us. The link was already open so we followed and it lead us to 鼎泰丰。 I saw Hao looked longingly at the menu at the door and face palmed. Slowly, I diverted his attention and we went to Starbucks for my much needed caffeine. Our plan was to walked down Orchard all the way to Bugis to Sim Lim Square for some gadget hunt. With new malls up, our progress was slow. Speaking of new malls, there's Orchard Central. Me thinks this place is upper crust. Sofas for shoppers that got tired, posh shops, expensive looking furnishing... I also think I've found the only Geláre left in Singapore that's not taken over by E.C. Tuesday's waffles anyone?
It's rare that I walked on this side of the road.
As we walked towards the entrance of Istana, Hao kept interrupting my concentration on the car that drove into the entrance with questions like, "Is this where the president lives?" There goes my chance of seeing Mr Nathan... if he's in the car. These questions that I've answered every time we pass by the Istana! Once and for all, it is the official residence and office of the President of Singapore. Now will you stop asking me this question like for the one hundredth and one time. At P.S, Samsung Omnia 2 launch. Also, Singapore Food Fest, peranakan style. Right between P.S and The Atrium. Spent some time there looking at Neng's next phone-of-choice contestant number two. (Number 1 is Omnia HD) before moving on to The Cathay (not before stopping outside Sakae looking drooling-ly at their sashimi special.) Aston for lunch and what a big lunch it was. Sorry no pictures, too busy eating. We covered much ground after that, moving down Cityhall. Went Peninsula Shopping Center for shoes. People take note, there's a LMTEDT shop in the house, yo. Do drop by for your pair of trusty sneakers anytime. Then it's Funan for games and we got home in time for dinner and “爱也好,恨也好”。 Our family glued to the TV, making the visitors wonder about our pass-time seriously. TV marathon later, we explored Marina Barrage. On the way in the car we sang random songs played on the radio and talked military. Nothing confidential I assure you.
We went down and took a long stroll. The weather was nice and windy, with the undertones of moist and salt from the sea. I took my time taking pictures and enjoying the breeze. We saw a lot of couples, some soloist using the net, groups having picnic-afters; playing cards. I can see in my mind's eye evening sunsets and jogs along the bridge. It was romantic until I caught up with the boys.
21 JulyWe were totally lost driving back. Ended up in Clementi, how bad was that. Late for home anyway, someone suggested supper. 兴旺茶餐厅 it is then.

On one end of the libra was sleep, the other my weight. Seeing the way the scales tipped, my heart wept as I threw the virtual scale away. I fear for my waistline. In the house, it was a blissful 5 hours without food. Then Hao woke up. We solve ez-link matters at Toa Payoh Central. That can of worms. Good thing I dragged him to Popular for a while more before BreadTalk tempted the saliva out of him. Though I talked him out of that, we ended up in Bishan 鼎泰丰。 Some times, you just cannot win. 一笼这个,三笼那个,可想而知,又一圈了。

Neng and Kuan slept in and join us late. The breakfast ended like lunch and cost just over $100. I walked out of the place bloated and saw Hao headed straight for BreadTalk. 连吃带打包。Impressive. By the time we reached home to change clothes, he only have a "smart-aleck" left. That was gone in a minute.
Freshly fed, Bugis here we go. Explore and snooped. Walk right into the trap and the slip of tongue caused me another kilo? 南翔馒头店。We saw 蒸笼 abundant and ordered more food. By then, I've already leave my life in the hands of fate. Can you believe the 下午茶's spread? Not to mention after that we went right over the streets for 甜汤。我都饱得快吐了。
The dessert store is across the street.
Prior engagement with Cin. We are supposed to meet for lunch at Ghim Moh I think, 虾婆河粉 and Mongolian food。Since we cocked up the timing, we met for dinner at The Central Clarke Quay. Lost the sense of direction and arrived half an hour late. Major high was the shoe sale! But damn it! Why they don't have my size? Dinner at Waraku de Pasta. we got a cute waiter and the seats have a really good view of the Singapore River.
Ponders over what to eat.
Nice night view, bad jittery fingers.
Code Blue for Cin means she's going to have an early night, that leaves us to explore... The
Clarke Quay Food Street. Featuring traditional Straits Chinese cuisines, peranakan dishes, local delights and lots of beer, we had fun walking around looking at the people enjoying themselves as they chow down. Moving on, since the night is still young; we explored pubs and clubs and everything caught in between.

Moving on to a more quiet spot, otaku(s) will love this place called Cosafé @ CHIJMES 01-11. See Neng's smile for prove.

Please, please do try out their garlic bread and calamari rings. Total bagus. Also known as the place where I defy doctor's orders. So I am not telling how much we drink... Okay, maybe just one, remember the R.I.P after the series of drinks I've had; making me faint? A milder version, ladies and gentlemen, I introduce you to: Seven Sins~

Hao and I kept talking about the Bohemian revolution because of Green Fairy in our drink. Gosh, all that absinthe. Alcohol made me talk big and I took pictures with the ultra kawaii waiteress / maid. She don't walk. She bounces. Her name is Apple. We nicknamed her "the bouncing apple".
22 JulyFor a moment I was in the toilet and heard the usual puking and thumps. When I came out we had a show put on. There's this drunk guy and his girlfriend who took a trishaw ride and he took the horn from the uncle and started pressing the horn at him. Just ask either one of us who saw it to describe it to you. It was freaking funny. After that, we want to make sure we don't look too drunk so we walked down near Park Lane to have 豆花。 The walk made Hao realize just how much food he haven't tried.

Anyway, 豆花 and talks of being old. -_-"" Kuan and Hao amazed that it cost less than $10 to get home via taxi even with surcharge. Hao was totally gone after he went to toilet. The rest of us shamelessly stayed in Sheng's room to chit-chat until he only have a two hour nap before going to school. Neng kept nodding off. Finally sleep claimed me and it was late when Hao and Kuan wakes. Neng was still asleep so we headed to market for 小锅面 and the Cher's so called 一口包。

Slacking and taking our own sweet time, we went shoe hunting and everyone was happy with their purchases. We even saw Auntie Roy along the way. Funan game hunt failed so Illuma for dinner. The maids at Cosafé way cuter. But we have fun with the fresh ordering experience.
Hmm... I wonder where this leads to.
The chief that is cool with his cooking utensils throwing act.
We even caught a glimpse of the Japanese Fencing Team in Singapore for Youth Olympics. We are all impressed by their mask wearing skills. Like really respect.
Hao wants to learn from Neng the art of catching soft toys and he paid a lot of school fees that night and got nothing. We went home after a long time at arcade as I fought valiantly over the urge that is 'Eternal Wheel' and watch them installing Jubeat, my second obsession. Neng will be off early tomorrow and I wonder will I go crazy?
23 JulyWe spent 23rd July at home mostly. Kuan slept all the way till noon and there wasn't much to do and I sleep too little to be of use. We explored Ang Mo Kio and I got Hao to try the curry spaghetti @ Nebo. Of course Hao try out at the machines. We saw 3 machines 'Jackpot', we were in awe. School fees paid off. Hao caught this little thing.

We join Dad at Lorong 8 for 炒果条。Then, usual TV and internet. Sleep comes easier that night.
24 JulyInternet. Hao have some business outside and he settles while Kuan slept the day away. I forgot how the day went but we did not travel far. Whatever.
25 JulyThere wasn't much, just Hao clearing his stuff and all that, we went 鼎泰丰 again. Add this two to the list we ate the other time:

and arcade for some toy catching action. Hao kept missing and Kuan got fed up. I milled around playing games and when I got back to the machine, I find Hao still attempting to catch something. I told him to try other stuff as Kuan came back and he went to the machine Hao tried on. Proves Hao was all kinds of fail cause, "Tan Cher Hao you suck wey~" rang out. Here comes Kuan sashaying over with a toy in his hand. When the coins are all out, we got this:

Then, we went home, pick up the suitcases and I see them off.
I have a nap and then showered to join the ladies for Korean Hot Stone. Freaking nice and near to home. Then settlers. After our usual
'Betrayal at House on the Hill' we tried a new game called Dracula.

The character I use: Mina Harker
We met Andrew there and he looked at me and "Ah!" Seriously, can you remember that I have the member card like before you pay!?! Too bad. LOL The game was so fun we went back for more the very next night after dinner at T.C.C. Speaking of which the new menu will be out soon! 尽请期待!
P.S: I had hell writing this up. If I get any facts wrong, it's because all of these are blurred up and I have a few more entries to write and its 4:46am. I'll just end here then. Till the next entry...

Photos go down
I need a new home for my photos. Yahoo Photos is closing on 18 Oct 2007 and Sony Imagestation is closing on 1 Feb 2008. However, they are disabling uploading and sharing on 12 Nov 2007.
Maybe I should just post it all to Multiply or Wretch...
Other suggestions on where to move to?

Kaspersky beats Norton (I think)
What I am saying is, Kaspersky is making me a lot less frustrated than Norton. I had been a Norton user for around 4 to 5 years? Occasionally, freeware like AVG pops up for times when I havent had the time to renew my license.
The thing is, Norton takes up a lot of RAM. And unless you are really a pro-user, it is hard to keep that Norton from cluttering up that space. Especially since from Norton Antivirus going up to Internet Security. My troubles doubled and patience seems to dwindle. After suffering from another bout of attack that Norton refuses to detect.
(Okay, pauses. Spam seems to still get into my mailbox, though I configured it to block. I still get pop ups from the wrong websites while the ones that I click never appear. It switched off my quicktime online viewing and causes hangs [lags] and it takes 15 minutes to open my mmorpg because every single time I try to open the game [which was not often since everytime I try to open it the game has a new patch] it wanted me to re-approve that damn game to access the internet! And this ends my rant.)
Even though I had taken on the arduous task of running updates every other day and then running a virus scan every weekend with the updated licenses, there still seems to be fishes escaping the net. (Or to put it in a more sarcastic way, viruses escaping my Norton.) I finally give up and decided to ask around for alternatives.
Vola!
Kaspersky So far, even though it is rather annoying in its training mode (with anti hack and anti spam you can choose to do without and it will not get so annoying) it is really good at catching the irritating little fishies and my computer is for once, not lagging and infected.
I will continue to use this and updates about it. Lets give it a 50 day trial before I make the final verdict.

Writer's Block
Oh dear, hell yes. That.... THING I hate is back again. I don't know why, but I can't seem to write anything more. It's really sad. Blocked for 2 whole months! My other job is now totally on hold. Verdant, don't kill me. Please?
Work on handReviews - darn a lot of reviews to be written.
Setting up of characterisation profiles and background
Character Sketch
Story board
Blah... the list goes on and on, for work never ends.
On a side note: The other day, was talking to one of my colleagues about comics and manga. His words made me did a calculation of sorts and thanks to his 'equation', I figured I spent around 5K on mangas? Holy.... No wonder I had to sell my Jordans T-T
Quite a lot of projects (self taken on) to do. Guess I really need to get that portfolio done? So much to do, so little time! Erhm, file my Income Tax? Yupps done. What else? Work out more? lol Another conversations with my colleagues.... Quite interesting as the things we talk about.... Guess I really do click better with boys? Anyway, the talks made me realise how lucky it is to be single again. Wahaha
Wow! I wrote a blog entry just like that! Is my block gone???
(Plot bunny look irritated standing there with a sign saying "Hell NO!!!")
Opps, guess not.

Conclusion of the Lunar New Year
A recap from the whole Lunar New Year. Rushed as usual this year, though instead of having dinner at one of the Woons, we ended up at this fancy Chinese restaurant. Guessed the families are getting busier than usual. Anyway, the food portion was B.I.G! Something related to having a friend who open restaurants I guess.
Stayed up all night, doing work and surfing. My thinkpad might just be having some problems man. Anyway, as I was saying, staying awake; hope its really like traditions say. 添福添寿 for your parents. (And no, my parents did not order me MacDonald's...) Morning comes and off to visits! First stop will be Uncle Roy's house. ( Like every year.) The three brothers' families did what we did every year. Family photo! Yes, its that time of the year again. Then, the usual (again *roll eyes*) till we got into Malaysia.
The trip is more of a rush than anything this year! We drop of at Malacca for the night, 捞鱼生 and steamboat style, played with new nieces and nephews, slept at 3am, woke up at 11am to the sound of TV and kids laughing. How cute. Then its a long drive up to Selengor, praying, 捞生 again (without fish this time) then gathering our stuff, with aunts on tow, headed for K.L.
Yes, we 捞鱼生 again, then, majong sessions starts, the adults seems to be aching to play, and Aunt Maggie set such a high bet, I was like oh my gawd! 3 dollars for a 碰 and 4 for a 杠!?! And the 番? 花? I don't even want to count. The kids, mainly Neng, Sheng, Kuan and I, went off to play pool. Ended up early course parents were locked out. ( Keys with us) I stayed up to watch Initial D after. Slept at 6am and awakens to the delicious smell of stir-fry. (Getting sick of heavy stuff) Had noodles for lunch (look at the time.) and its off to Singapore.
Got back in time for dinner at Uncle Jeff's. Casual chats about Bing Ling's delivery's date, the senior Woons upcoming trip back to hometown Hainan Island and how there was a 13 cars + 1 line crash on the highway's shoulder from Malaysia back. (12 cars, 1 tow truck, and 1 dead engine. Turns out, they send 1 tow truck and 2 after, since the tow truck got crashed into at the road shoulder while traveling to the car it was supposed to rescue. TT2 ended up towing TT1 leaving TT3 to the rest of 13 cars. Such sad case.)
Then, a week of work. 拜年 @ work, and of course, how could I forget the 捞鱼生? Yes, again. The food was alright I guess. Rooms of improvement? And yes, the service for our table was reasonable. Week ends and the date is here for parents to go China. Couldn't send them off on that day since, I don't drive, and their flight time at godly early hours. It was a Sunday man, who wakes so early!?! Anyway, did send Jess though, her flight is at around 9am so we gathered at 7am. By the time I went home, was rather burned out. But promises were promises, up to pangya for chats and a (few) long rounds of 18 hole golf.
And we arrive at this week, night shifts are a torture when you have to wake your brother up for school, do housework, cook lunch, etc. Yes, I didn't sleep well and the computer, being turned on for so long decided to go on a strike. Stupid I know, but the slow network and sleep-deprivation took a tow and frustration serve as the key to the torture I put myself through last weekend. You know the task bar at the bottom of the screen, when tasks starts popping up rapidly the second time of the day, i tried unplugging the network cable. I was being stupid and the thinkpad hanged. So I tried to shut down, to no avail. So, I pressed the power up/down button. And I can't detect the network after I reboot. I tried everything! (ok, until I called Darren and he enlightened me to call the help desk, not everything >_<) I called the help desk till 1+ 2am early Saturday. Poor Chris had to cover me. Then Saturday comes and I could finally get through, guess what happens? The friendly tech guided me through a series of stuff I did yesterday and concluded that my network adapters got corrupted. (Why didn't I think of that?) So after downloading and reinstalling it (following the user manual) I realise three things.
1. My sound is missing.
2. I can access internet.
3. My business network is still down. (seems unable to catch the correct IP address)
I got frustrated when I tried calling the help desk again and my hand phone gives me the number not in use sign. I got Chris to help me call and he told me the line is engaged. Same thing happens on Sunday. My parents, back by then was worried that I will actually destroy the computer. In fact, the end of Sunday, both my brother and I went crazy ( his "My Received Files' seems to contain a corrupted file, which one I didn't know and if kept hanging the computer. Oh and that's where all the music files were situated...)
I got tired of this, so I was thinking of coming early to work, hoping the IP address grabbed from company network might somehow helps. And guess what? I'm stuck outside the office in the toilet typing all this. Turns out, the door only opens at 8am. I reached at 6am. Shit. ( Why the hell do they have a main door and makes the rest of the doors locked at 7pm when the main door does not even open at any time!?!)

Quite a bit of Update
In one short sentence, I screwed up. Big time.
1) Meet up with the gang yesterday. Lots of updates from Serene. Unfortunately, Pei lost track of meeting date (sweat dropped) and couldn't make it. Cin got sick last minute. Gastric flu*... (frowns) Ge and Jie went strolling down Singapore River and meet us ( Ser and I) like when we are about the finish the fabulous Dory Fillet. Went Mac after a lot of places. Drop dead tired today.
2) Ge and Jie's ROM. Do keep free on 7 July. ( Erhm. Ge didn't propose!!! He just give Jie the ring and.... there -_-"')
3) I chalk up to 4 days of being sick (MC) and my sore throat is still not really healing.
4) I made my Mum angry by saying something stupid last night. Well, I was drop dead tired! I swear I didn't do it on purpose. It was just a off handed remark on *blushes*
5) New Year Gear:
Socks --> New socks 3 for $5.
Shoes --> Think have to get ladies heels... Shoes are too darn expensive.
Pants --> $44.50 + $ 29.90. Oh well, a change of wardrobe, my old jeans are all too big now.
Shirts --> $30 ($21 after haggling) and $40 (Sports. Brand. Expensive. It was on sale.)
Wallet --> S10. Bought 2 years ago. Still considered new!?! Yupps, didn't use it yet. But time for change me thinks.
Specs --> Oakley dream putting on hold. $100
*Ahem* --> Still had new old ones. lol.
Total adding up to: S491 (Including ahems, 1 new soccer jersey and my brother's specs.) I overspent! Duh~
6) First ang pow of the year, I got it yesterday. Angmoh's Cai Shen is so.... interestingly cute. Nice healthy pink shade yah~ lol
7) Met with Gene, Pat and Drew. Like some time ago. Drew need to get his car's door fixed. Gene should do more "don't ya" to Pat! *ho ho ho do more* Patrick should get map to location training. We should meet up with Fizh soon. Reunion dinner no. 2 in schedule?
8) My villagers died.
9) I want Pangya A Cash to dress up my Character! *RAWR!*
10) I wasted my time on Cake Mania.
The End
*Or not if you decides to read this. The extracted conversation I had with Cin last night via SMS.
Cin - Im sick

Tagboard died
Well, tagboard.com seems to be taken over by some weird website. Anyway, every time a page with tagboard opens, it prompts people to key in password. Plain nuisance I say. Thus I took it off. On the other hand, I was contemplating whether to shift Xiao Gene Gene into 'Brudders'... On second thought, Nah~ (what fun would that be?) Oh and my nick 2 days ago was 我喜欢欺负小Gene Gene... =p
Update on life includes:
Had chats with Gene... It makes me kinda miss being attached O_o Okay, that sounds way wrong.
Talked with Fizh for a bit. His words, I 感同身受.
Went Seoul-ed with KL, Drew and Pat. We had fun amidst ah(s) and ouch(s). Pat was like a handicap there. Only can eat and take stuff. Don't know how to cook. -_-"' Next time your wife how? Drew still OK, besides the fact that he said a lot of cold jokes. I was literally frozen into his 'ice age'. Not forgetting KL, she's almost as good in cold jokes, though Drew has the upper hand since his is still 'fresh from the oven'.
Shoe hunting with KL. Had fun. Realise we had a lot in common. I mean buying things wise. The decision to not bring Pat along was brilliant. That will totally spoil a girl's fun. I mean with him being around as we shop ^_^"' Oh and I do think I had cravings this month, cause we had Sakae for dinner and Haagen Daz for lunch. What indulgence.
I am not working tomorrow.
Playing basketball tomorrow afternoon.
There is no poem/song today. Seems that I can only write when I am feeling down. Weird huh.
Link updates include 'My guns' (wishlist) and adding Fizh into the 'Brudders' section.
On second thought, Shini! UPDATES!!! Don't try to run away. I quote,"... passe. Update yourself lah brudder." Or something to that extent. You agree I need updates on my friend's love life. So update me about you and her already!
Feeling: NoneTo do list:
1)Foxconn Pulls
2)Have fun
3)Cook (Just cause I have a craving to do so.)

(Heard that things got shipped to the wrong warehouse and stuff... my fault -_-) I hope I dont make anymore mistakes. Meet up with Cin yesterday to pass her time-sheets and Ed was like, "Last two days wanna go home cannot go, today can go home you go out Gui Hun..." Dang! Title: Hectic? Dont think so~
"Hectic" day. Lolx. Went to Orchard there de Adecco coz Mi was called down for an interview~ Poor thing, the troubles of a PR... Neway, we met real early and -_- we went to check out the movies coz Mi and Di wanna watch movies on Sat... Not satisfied with the timing given by cine, we went down to Galilee to have "Go Bananas" (a bit too sweet), "Pineapple Cooler" (Nice drink, cool mug~) and a "Crink-cut Fries"(OMG O_o so big portion...) It was an enjoyable meal of course~ After the boring interview, we went down to PS to catch
Red Eye. Overall a cool movie, pretty well planned. I love the part (the very last part) where the female lead told her hotel's patrons to **** off! lolx Wouldnt be trying that soon~

Title: New Faces, New Job, Old Relations
Went to the company today for my 1st day of work.(like finally) I was pretty nervous as I had a bad 1st day experience right before this job. Jittery and jumpy~ However, the people there proved my worries unfounded. They are really great =D Gotta know new people, and I got a feeling this will not be as stressful as my past employment... Whatz more, I had a new collegue coming in on today too... Lolx 2 newbies going to work = Tons of fun~ Lolx any way, I've gotta don female wear!!! (-_-)///
Start doing the work and realise I'll be pretty free... hmm... at least, before 10am anyway. Meet up with da gang(it almost took forever to organise this outing -_-) and finally got to satisfy my craving for korean food~ (Im not the only 1... lolx) After that, its our usual hangout... you guessed it~ Pacific Coffee Club. We sat and talked till about 11:45pm. Everyone's gotta work the next day so yah~ Thats it, EOTD... ... ...

Title: Negative Reputation
Okie, you guys know that I dont really wear female wear right~ I did today and guess what, I killed myself. (I'm being dramatic.) Met Ris for dinner tonight and she decided to go Phin's coz her friend is working @ Cine (one of those insurance thingy) and she need to pass him some things. Anyway, after dinner, I bumped into ( I really mean bump into *bumpz*) Mervix and Trev (think so lah, I was busy escaping... */swt*)
*Cries* Met with Ris' friend after that and after chatting, we went shopping coz I wanna buy some clothes suitable for office (I dont have lah~ all guys clothes in my wardrobe -_-) and we ended up eating (again!?! Coz, Ris want, cheesy saugage, Long Xu Tang, Baked Potato with Cheese and many more~) I refused to subject my stomach to cheesy torture~ I skipped~
Anyway, I saw an old buddy from secondary school and then realise that he's also a primary school mate of Ris~ Singapore is so small~ Had a chat but... forget to get his number~ (No no, not bo xim juz forgot~ I swear!)
Went bossini after that but no suitable ones (sad) and was about to go FOX when we realised it was closed! Sharkz! I gotta get PC a present... -_-
In the end, after I went back, I sat at the com till 11:59 (did something special for my two birthday babies *lolx* and I cant get to meet PC anyway coz she's 'booked') and send it to them wishing them a Happy 20th Birthday~ Happy B'dae~ PC and PY...

Title: BIG Expenditure
Met Cin after I woke up @ 11am~ Me no work mah. Went to Commex... ... It was crazy. We squeezed in and squeezed out in 2 hours... Serious and we are not moving on our own~ Met Leslie there, *arch eyebrows* didnt believe my eyes coz he doesnt seem to be the type to take part time jobs, summore at Commex.
Finally got her stack of CD-R this Cindy~ Was like, "20~" "huh!?! $20? Good deal! Cin can buy! I wan also~" Then realise it was selling at $28. It was cheap but not *that* cheap either so, yah... Feeling a bit stupid now. The exhausted us, after being pushed out, took a cab to PS, actually wanna go Starbucks again but its full so we jumped to a more tame outlet. MOS was okay I guess, we had nuggets, milk tea, corn soup and apple pie. It was a shopping spree after that... Bought a top @ Gio and also those minatures @ an expensive $49.50 for 5 bottles. Cin use perfume pay $$ hor =X *lolx, no lah nvm de~ But me WAN bottles!*
Went home to have a light dinner and when Dad went over to Uncle's Joe and I 'chiong' down to pak pool @ Park Lane Mall then had roti prata and dou hua shui~ Got back in time~ Lucky 0_0v

Our mentor (see that Sin Lan~) Sin Lan will be leaving us for another company CCT Tech (I think) and the team organised a party to send her off and welcome 3 people into the team... (Mainly, me Edwin and Ellin) we had... cheese cake~ Its actually a 3 portion cake, chocolate on top, cheese in the middle and oreo at the bottom. Sin Lan and I shared the cake coz I cant take cheese =x We were actually joking coz Boss say if you eat you must work here for 3 months hor and I was like 1 portion for 1 month wor... i can only eat 2 portion so I work for 2 months? Lolx~ Really enjoyed it coz we hadnt have much for lunch~ After cake, we are so free, explored freindster together and showed some pictures. It felt like last minute bonding xia... Was a bit sad coz a few days after we're here she's gonna leave. However I know she's gonna excel in her new job so I wish her all the best... To get such a bonded team~ Am feeling xing fu now~

Title: I wanna complain!
Seriously, I'm getting a little pissed off with the servicing attitude of a particular seafood restaurant in Pasir Ris area~ I mean, we do this every year, at least once, cause if its anyone's birthday in our family we will go to eat chilli crab (most prob ard that area.) So much so that its already a tradition. However, the place we regularly patron was under reconstruction and will only be starting its business again on the 12th September 2005, so we went to the other place we 'regularly' patron (nah, not really. However, we do regularly patron its other branch located at *bleap* and we really like it there cause the manager with the funny cartoonish marine life tie is so entertaining and a really good host.) and happened to had the worst day of my September~
They gave me a windy spot (you know how much I hate messing up my hair~) and my chair is almost sticking into the other patron's table (btw, its occupied by a Korean-Jap couple with a very kawaii kid~) not only that, that area is full of kids going to the washroom and its like my way is the only way they can pass thru( like real. *roll eyes* I mean how can they pass by when my chair is ****ing stuck to that table!?!) Naughty little things actually dirtied the back of my chair and you guess it~ My shirt also dio~ *Sianz* They change our plates at wierd timings and take away dishes before we even finish.
Worst case: The Ang Moh sitting in front of us almost got his whole plate of chilli crab kept away. Aunties working there were like shouting at the cleaner and go, "He jud go toi-let! Toi-let on-iiii!" But too late lor, cause the cleaner auntie already stacko his plates together le. Then she panicked cos the guy is coming back... I was like "what the f***" cause you know what she did? She put the plates she stacko-ed on the chilli crab back on the table and then put the chilli crab there as if nothing's happened! I was like *fainted*
The guy who ordered for us, (we saw him like four to five times since August cause of the reconstruction so he should know we quite regular mah~) acted as if we were like really poor( really I mean what up with "Why don't you have this as a replacement, its cheaper [even though that dish is still available cause I saw it being served to the other table when we were having our chilli crab] and everything also "Zuo Xiao De" [translation: make small one] !?! I had it then and there!) and keep offering us to change to simpler dishes. Also he kinda get us the wrong dish when we ordered the 'Yu Ni Dai Zi' and insisted that he is right. (Nope I didnt argue with him. I was busy on the phone talking to Cin) The chilli crabs had missing parts (claw and the fingers thingy) and he forgot the 'Qian Zi' I mean how can you forget the Qian Zi!?! Use teeth arh? You try use your teeth against Sri Lanka Male Crab lah! Fu!
Then in the end, we ordered dessert (we thought it was still early so we ordered the Oh-ni coz usually if too late they will say sold out le. Else we usually order like twice the family size of other desserts...) and he told us it was on the house. (Think happy right? Got 10 person share of Oh-ni to eat....) Guess what? On the house = small portion. It doesn't even fill up half of my bowl and it was this small shark fin bowl... -_- What the, and there was only 5 bowls!?! My brother was like, "Jiez, there's still cake in the fridge right? Still got maggie mee at home right?" While my brother is busy making that comment, I was busy glaring at the service crew who *accidentially* drop half of a scoop of the Oh-ni onto the table. (I mean since I'm staring she got so freaked that she doesnt even bother to apologise or even scoop that Oh-ni up and put it into the empty bowl like what she did to the Ang Moh and just booted.) [Btw, the bowl was so damn big. Dunno for what also....]
In conclusion, they spoilt my after birthday Birthday Feast.... I hate them *boo hoo* (nah I just felt like killing them~ lolx) I swear I'm not going to that branch to eat again... As in ever~
Went NTUC after that to buy stuff to bring to work to eat (lolx so many 'to') and well that concludes the day... Chatting with Cin on da phone now... Ears hurting~ lolx waiting for 'Wo He Jiang Shi You Ge Yue Hui 3' to start~ Ja'
