Still not in the mood after the hurt I recieved. Its not like your CPU gets plucked out everyday.Anyway, this is what I learned on 14/07/04 and 15/07/04... Excerpted from Mission Log Day: 8
Mission: To format a harddrive (externally) using USB drive
Status: Acomplished
Plan: Format Pentium II Xeleron, ns400100254's hard disk for disposal.
Analysis: Upon taking a look at ns400100254, it was discovered that it does not have a graphic card to connect to the monitor. Completion on mission delayed for aprox. 10mins for removal of casing. 2 harddisk are found. Harddisks are removed from original location to be formatted externally.
(see Injury Report )
Upon removal, process delayed due to external missing USB drive. Mission on hold till 1426 for arrival of USB drive. Meanwhile, formatted another 2 computers for disposal.
(see Injury Report )
Warning: Neglect to insert jumper into the 2nd hard disk of ns400100254. This have been a tactical error, further review is required.
(see Injury Report & Asset Report)

Day: 9
Mission 1: Revision of Hardware.
Mission 2: Check 36 data ports on raised floor.
Status: Acomplished
Plan 1: Listen to what mentor Chris have to say
Plan 2: Check all 36 data ports on raised floor for their IP address.
Analysis:
CPU - Pentium processor
Heat sink - Large surface area of wierd looking metal directly mounted on the CPU to discipate heat
SCSI - Small Computer System Interface. Parallel I/0 bus and protocol that permits the connection of a variety of peripherals (usually found in server)
UPS - Uninterrupted Power Supply. 4 power source or more usually 4 or 6. Suitable backup time: 15 min Prevent data loss when power surge 'kill' sensitive equiptment
Switch & Hub - Difference will be written on the equiptment itself.
Graphic card - Self explainatory.
Ethernet card (need more information on current subject.)
RAID 1 to RAID 5 (SCSI) [how to? and what is?] RAID 5 - 3-1 concept: 1 down 2 do. work work skip (1 2 skip, skip 2 3, 1 skip 3, etc...)
Problem: Poxy server? Linux? Telnet?
*Check 36 data ports on raised floor.
(see Injury Report )
